My NaNoWriMo Diary

So, NaNoWriMo is about to get underway…

Thirty days of flat out writing to get closer to a manuscript. Some of you may reach that goal and some of you may fall short, but all is well if you just push yourself further and further.

This year will be the first time I participate in the National Novel Writing Month challenge, and I’ve decided to document my progress over the next thirty days. Cranking out two thousand words a day will be challenging enough, and since I’ll be spending most of my time on my laptop, then at least I’ll be able to share my journey with you aspiring writers out there, and in turn, I’ll hear about your projects too.

I don’t claim to be a professional writer at all; what I do on my blog is purely for fun. But I have that dream. I would love to get to a day in my life when I pack up a job and write full time, which is why NaNoWriMo is so important to me. It will be a real challenge of balancing everything in my life, keeping faith in myself and believing in the potential of my story. Not only that, but it would also make me appreciate the daily writing habits of already established authors, such as Mark Dawson and Stephen King, much more than I did before.

I will keep a record of how many words I write every day, and share little snippets with all of you about who my characters are and what’s happening in my book.

What will you be writing for NaNoWriMo? Let me know in the comments section below or follow my blog if you wanna stay in touch over this testing month!

Best of luck to you if you’re participating, and have a great Halloween! Bye!
